Several people on my flist have talked about how LJ seems to be sort of drifting away quietly - I don't think it's dieing, but it's definitely not as lively as it used to be. Not just that people have drifted away from it, but the ones that are still aroud seem to read less and post less and comment less.

Recent livejournal developments include a header contest, link hijacking (as a side-effect of turning content into a revenue stream for LJ), and, well, I'm not keeping track because the last LJ code push made it impossible for me to use many of their javascript functions (like dropdown menus and in-page replies) which makes LJ much less usable for ( Read more... )

Basically, LJ added a script that turned outbound links into one where a different affiliate (they? Someone else?) is added, stripping users of *their* affiliate ID ( Read more... )

I'm not going to jump ship any time soon - too many of my friends are LJ only, and too few are over at DW (plus, I still haven't found a layout that allows me to read my flist with custom colours, and it doesn't tell you with the styles, so you have to try them, and you can't test the flist, only the main page ( Read more... )
